Technology

Technology is something that has become extremely important in this era. This era is often referred to as the technology era. It seems like new technology is being invented each day. The common use of this technology however, has made us lazy. Should we be so dependent on all this technology. It is quicker, easier and easier to use, but what happened to the old way of doing things and does it hurt to do things by paper? This is something that we do not consider when using this wonderful invention. Technology is a great thing, but we often forget the disadvantages of technology.

Computers, phones, and different electronic devices are some of the greatest inventions known to man. Most people have thes things, but what happens when malfunctions come into the picture and this technology no longer works as we expect it? For example, if a student is trying to type a paper on the computer and the computer freezes while the paper is being typed, one loses his or her work. Another example of a technology glitch is when there is a power outage. Life suddenly comes to a hault without technology, and this is a bad thing.Again, dependency on technology can be harmful. It is what we are used to and what we are comfortable using, but the thought of the malfunctions is not thought about often. Emails are used so often, it seems like the face to face dialouge is lost. Email can be used to hide behind a screen, it is more impersonal. In some cases emails are used as a way of an interview. Is this taking it too far?

We should keep written records of things so that when technology does malfunction we are not stuck. Before technology written record were kept, but now all of our information is kept on a computer. This is dangerous. It means that our information is so easily accesible to others that can hack into a computer and identity theft can take place. Bank records, telephone records, and personal information are kept in computers. Is this the safest way to store valuable information? This can be detrimental to the ourselves individually as well as the society. Perhaps we should consider other ways of storing information. There is nothing wrong with using technology, but it is how one uses it.
